Punjab class 5tyh and 8th board exams have been declared with pass percentage of 97 percentage. However as per the media reports, large number of students have failed to perform above 33 percent. Around 6675 students of 5th class scored below 33 percent makrs. Around 6867 students scored less than 33 percent scores in 8th class. Under the RTE – Right to Education Act, students scoring less than 33% cannot be failed but to be promoted to next standard with E grade. However, necessary measures are to be taken to help the students with special attention by schools. All students till class 8th are mandatorily to be promoted as per the current RTE Act.

PSEB 12th and 10th Results
Few districts of Punjab like Fazilka and Gurdaspur have topped the results of board exams of class 5th and 8th. The evaluation of board exams of class 10th and 12th will be during month of April and May. Results of PSEB 10th and 12th exams are expected during Mid May.
The Matriculation and Senior Secondary exams in Punjab were scheduled in month of February and March. The results of these exams will be declared on the official websites of Punjab State Educaiton Board. PSEB designs and implements syllabus in all the state board schools and affiliated schools in the state. It also prescribes instructions, evaluations and text books for primary, middle level, secondary and senior secondary schools in state. The functions of the board are quite wide and covers all the aspects of school education at all these levels.
